Before listing my property I checked around Pittsfield to see who I thought was the best Real Estate Company to list my 123-acre farm for sale. -- The best recommendation I had was from the farmer on my property. He suggested that I talk with Scott Gatewood, the Broker who owns Pioneer Land Company located in Pittsfield, Illinois. I then listed my property with Scott and I was very pleased with manner in which he marketed my farm. -- Scott was very professional with listing being marketed in several different outlets including local Pike Press Newspaper and with the signs that he put up on my farm. Whenever, Scott received an offer he handled the entire transaction from his local office since I lived out of state. Most of my correspondence with Scott was handled with email or telephone. When I singed a contract offer and sold my property, Scott handled everything including the closing. Scott also negotiated a hunting lease with the new buyer of the farm for me to continue hunting on my farm after it was sold. I would highly recommend anyone who was wanting to sell their property in West Central, Illinois to contact Scott Gatewood with Pioneer Land Company.

Scott, just a short note to say thanks for the help over the years. I found Pioneer Land Company over the internet when I first started looking for property in Pike County. Since that time I have purchased three farms with Scott's help and at this point consider him a friend. Scott is very knowledgeable and takes the time to figure out what is important to you in a land purchase (whether it be great hunting, good income or a combination thereof). Beyond being a good land broker Scott is also a tremendous local resource always willing to help or recommend the right person for your projects. Having a dependable local resource is a must for any out of town landowner.

Scott, I would like to thank you for the great piece of property you found for us. It’s been a joy to have, and a great piece of hunting property as well. I really did not know where to turn when my wife and I were in the process of purchasing property. We initially started with one real estate agent that gave us false hope on a piece of property that went on for 9 months before we decided it was not going to work out. After that, we decided to contact one very well known real estate agent in Pittsfield, who was too busy to return calls and follow-up. By luck, I found Scott through the internet. Scott was willing to take us out to look at property anytime. In fact, he took us out during muzzle loader season instead of hunting himself. It was miserable weather, with sleet and freezing rain but Scott did not say a word about it. Scott took us out on a tour of the property on his Kawasaki Mule. It was obvious he was very familiar with the property and pointed out key hunting signs. Once we decided to purchase the farm, I asked Scott to push the process along as quickly as possible and we had our farm in 3 weeks. Scott was available to answer any questions whenever I had any and we still stay in contact today. I could not recommend anyone better to do the job then Scott.

I listed a unique piece of land with Chris Comer, one that had to be seen to appreciate. Chris moved quickly and professionally and had my property sold to an out of state buyer within weeks. It was a smooth transaction and I hope to work with him again in the future.
